The king of the “Aam Aadmi” smartphone is back. Xiaomi has finally teased the Redmi Note 15 5G for the Indian market, and the expected starting price of ₹18,999 is already sending ripples through the industry.
While the world is obsessed with ₹1 Lakh flagships, the Redmi Note 15 is where the actual volume is. With a 108MP MasterPixel camera and a refined curved AMOLED design, Xiaomi is trying to kill the “budget” feel once and for all. But can the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 keep up with heavy gamers? Let’s dive deep.
Xiaomi has finally ditched the “boxy” look for a curved aesthetic that feels much more expensive than it is. At just 7.4mm thickness, the Redmi Note 15 is one of the slimmest phones in its class.
The back panel uses a new “Dragon Crystal Glass” which is claimed to be highly drop-resistant. Don’t waste your money if you prefer a flat screen for gaming; curved displays look great but finding a good tempered glass in local markets will be a headache.

PERFORMANCE & HYPEROS 2.0
The move to the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 is a calculated one. It’s not a flagship chip, but it’s built on a 4nm process, which means excellent efficiency.
Everyday Tasks: Butter smooth. No lag in switching between 15+ apps.
Gaming: It handles BGMI at 60FPS on “Smooth + Extreme” settings, but it will struggle with Genshin Impact on high settings.
Software:HyperOS 2.0 is significantly lighter than the old MIUI. However, the “GetApps” notifications are still a nuisance.
CAMERA: THE 108MP MASTERPIXEL
The 108MP sensor isn’t just a marketing number this time. Xiaomi has included Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), which was previously missing in the base models.
Daylight: Sharp, punchy colors that are “Instagram-ready.”
Video: Supports 4K recording, a huge win for budding vloggers.
Low Light: The OIS helps in keeping the shutter open longer without blur, making night shots usable.
